I offer the following therapy services:

I practice using an integrated orientation, as I construct the therapy focus around the client, who presents with their own distinct narrative.

The modalities of therapy which I make use of include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Narrative, and Systems therapies. I additionally practice Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT).

Wellbeing & Personal Development

Being human means constant growth and development, often without our awareness. Recognizing this journey can be empowering, allowing us to take control and move in fulfilling directions. Wellbeing and personal development encompass improved relationships, self-actualization, increased confidence, self-worth, self-acceptance, meaningful living, and healthy decision-making.

Wellbeing is viewed holistically, considering all aspects of life: psychological, emotional, behavioral, physical, spiritual, financial, and social. When needed, clients are referred to appropriate resources for support in these areas.

WHAT WE WORK ON:

  • Personal growth and wellness optimization

  • Employee health and wellness

  • Career counselling

  • Subject choice counselling

  • The importance of community and connection

  • Integrating nature into well-being practices

Individual Therapy
(Adolecents to adults)

Individual therapy encompasses the process that takes place between myself, the psychologist, and the person who has started therapy. It is a collaborative process where we jointly explore and define the purpose for the individual’s therapy.

Once the client’s needs and hopes are fully understood, a treatment approach is agreed on. This approach is unique to each person and is cultivated and adapted when necessary, continually keeping the client’s best interests at the forefront of each step taken.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is used predominantly with children and is aimed at giving them a way to process and express their inner emotional and psychological world through play.

An exploration of their emotions is carried out in observation and engagement with their play. Play therapy includes the use of assessment tools, toys, games and activities.

I work at the child’s pace, and play therapy is a safe and non-judgmental space for them. Areas of focus includes:

  • Behavioural problems

  • Trauma

  • Parental guidance

  • Emotional regulation

  • Anxiety

  • Building self-confidence

  • Social skills empowerment

  • Stress management

  • Loss and Grief

Couples Counselling

Couples counselling takes place when a couple makes the decision to see a psychologist together, generally to work through challenges they are experiencing. I assess with the couple what it is that is bringing them to therapy, thoroughly outlining their hopes and goals in order to work towards these.

A solid relationship history is gathered through the process and the couple’s unique dynamic is considered throughout the therapeutic intervention. We aim to reach a place that feels constructive and healthy for the couple – wherever this may be.

Family Therapy

Families are dynamic systems, and sometimes systems need an adjustment to work more efficiently. Family therapy can offer these needed adjustments. Furthermore, it can provide a space for a family to process difficult life experiences, work through challenges together, build connectedness and foster helpful functioning within the system.

During family therapy, the family members engage with the psychologist in order to determine the issues and challenges, and to then work constructively on these.

WHAT WE WORK ON:

  • Blended families

  • Divorce

  • Illness of a family member

  •  Loss and grief

  • Trauma

  • Hostility in the family

  • Family connection and bonding

  • Reducing negative relational patterns

  • Addiction

Support Groups & Training

Sharing common experiences can be healing. Support groups connect individuals facing similar challenges, providing a community for honest and safe story-sharing. These groups help people share their feelings and coping strategies.

Each support group, consisting of 6 to 12 members, meets biweekly or monthly, either in person or online. I facilitate these sessions, providing psychoeducation as needed. Participation is encouraged but not forced, ensuring everyone has a chance to be heard.
